● 授業の目的と概要
　科学英語の基礎編として、医療と医薬品に関する英文を素材とし、リーディング力を養成する。
●一般目標(GIO) 
　英語の基礎力をつけるために、「読む」、「書く」、「聞く」、「話す」に関する基本的知識と技能を習得する。さまざまな考え方、感じ方に触れ、物事を多角的に見る能力を養う。 
●到達目標(SBOｓ) 
医療と医薬品に幅広く興味を持ち、人との関わりについて説明できる。  
英語で書かれた医療に関連する著述の内容を正確に説明できる。  
医療と医薬品に関連する簡単な文章を英語で書くことができる。 
主な病名、組織、臓器名、医薬品などを英語で発音できる。 
英語の会話を聞いて内容を要約できる。
● 授業の方法
単語テストに続き、vocabulary check, reading, comprehension check, listening, 
further study in medical terminologyの順に作業をしてもらいます。 
●準備学習や授業に対する心構え 
必ず下読みをして、わからない部分はあらかじめ辞書で調べておくこと。
練習問題もあらかじめ解答しておくこと。
●オフィス・アワー　
火曜日、木曜日午後1時〜3時、研究室へどうぞ。

出席(15%)＋発表(15%)＋英語テスト(70%)による総合評価

● 授業の目的と概要
This class will focus on practical English conversational skills. Students will actively build on the fundamentals of speaking, comprehension, reading and writing. Pair and small group work will be integrated. Intercultural understanding will be a theme throughout.

英語の基礎力を身につけるために、「聞く」「話す」に関する基礎的知識と技能を修得する。
●到達目標(SBOｓ)
１.英語の基礎的音声を聞き分けることができる。
２.英語の内容を聞いて内容を理解して要約できる。
３.英語による日常会話での質疑応答ができる。
● 授業の方法
A communicative skills-based text will be assigned and used regularly. Pair work and small group interviews will be utilized. Audio cassettes will be frequently used to improve listening comprehension.
● 成績評価法
Grading will be conducted in descending order of importance : attendance - participation - tests

This class will aim to extend students' grasp of English and their ability to use the language within a practical context. All four skills, speaking, listening, writing and reading, will be developed.
●一般目標(GIO)
The goal of this course is to raise students' overall communicative confidence.
● 授業の方法
A communication-oriented text will be assigned and used comprehensively. Further supplementary material will be assigned by the teacher.

The course will be task-based and will require active perticipation from students.

Evaluation will be in the form of attendance, involvement in classwork, and testing.

　BBC News を使ったテキストを使用しながら、主にリスニング力の養成を目指す。
●一般目標(GIO)
　英語のリスニング力を養成しながら、現代社会の様々な問題について考える。
●到達目標(SBOｓ)
　BBC News を聴いて、何が話題になっているか、説明できるようにする。Newsの音声をまねて、テキストを音読できるようにする。 
● 授業の方法
１．BBC News(DVD)を見ながら(聴きながら)大意をとらえる。
２．テキストを使用しながら、さらに詳細にNewsを聴き取る。
３．Newsの音声をまねて音読、リピーティング。
●準備学習や授業に対する心構え
授業に主体的に参加し、発言、発表すること。
