Career Counseling for Students

Kazuhiro Tanaka. Career Department Director

Each student receives counseling so that he/she may design the best future for themselves.

Though the job market for university grads in pharmacy has been bleak in recent years, roughly 100% of our students find a job. All jobs are looking for persons with communication skills, passion and future potential. Because of this, Osaka University of Pharmaceutical Sciences emphasizes “personal career counseling”. We help students to quickly identify what they want to be and get started with their job hunting at an early point. It is important in the first and second years of study that a student gives ample thought to what he/she wants to be. In the third and fourth years, it is important that they have a good understanding of what they are suited for and that they familiarize themselves with industries and jobs. So that they can start their job hunting efforts in the fifth and sixth years, a wide range of data is made available in the career room for students to look into companies and the Career Department is ready to support students so that they may be successful in their job hunting.
At Osaka University of Pharmaceutical Sciences, we want the individual student to design his/her own future and find a job that will make him/her happy. The environment surrounding pharmacists has changed greatly, with pharmacological education now lasting six years, but we are strengthening career guidance and support so as to stay in tune with the times.
