Two departments: Decision on which department to choose after completing the first three years of the curriculum

Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences offers two departments: the Department of Pharmacy and the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Students decide on which department to choose after completing the first three years of the curriculum of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Pharmaceutical knowledge and skills are sought after in a wide variety of fields. Through learning the basic and applied pharmaceutical sciences in the first three years, students identify their academic direction and understand their own competence, and on this basis they decide which department to choose. This system helps them effectively acquire expertise and skills that will become necessary in the future.


All students

1st year

Learn the basic of pharmaceutical sciences and develop total leadership

2nd year

Acquire specialized knowledge of pharmaceutical sciences in general

3rd year

Improve and apply acquired expertise

Acquire the basics in preparation for learning specialized knowledge of pharmaceutical sciences and develop the ethical integrity required for people dealing with pharmaceuticals

Languages and other liberal arts subjects/basic pharmaceutical subjects

More specialized subjects in applied pharmaceutical sciences and clinical pharmacy

Selection of department based on each student's personal preference after completing the first three years of the curriculum

Department of Pharmacy [6-year course]

4th year

Acquire clinical knowledge through practical and on-site training

Pharmaceutical Common Achievement Tests CBT/OSCE

5th year

Experience clinical practice through the program of external practical training

6th year

National Examination and graduation thesis, and finishing phase of learning process

Improve expertise and practical skills in clinical pharmacy

Themed-research in individual student’s major field

Students in the first-term doctorate program are currently undertaking research in the fields of “molecular structure and function analysis,” “drug discovery chemistry” and “life and environmental sciences,” and those in the second-term doctorate program are studying the fields of “molecular structure and function analysis” and “drug discovery chemistry.” The well-organized cooperation between the Faculty and the graduate school not only allows our students to continue and develop their theme on which they base their research in the Faculty but also to start new research on a wide variety of themes they find interesting.
